About Primary Health Tasmania

Primary Health Tasmania is a non-government, not-for-profit company working to connect care and keep Tasmanians well and out of hospital.

The organisation is one of 31 similar organisations under the Australian Government’s Primary Health Networks Program established to support and enable a coordinated, primary care-focused health system.

Director elections 2024

Under the Primary Health Tasmania Constitution (article 9) there is provision for up to 9 directors on the Board through a mix of elected positions and appointed positions.

At the 2024 Annual General Meeting there will be 3 elected director vacancies. A current director is eligible to stand for re-election.

Applications are sought from people with strong professional governance skills and expertise across at least 2 industry skill areas - these are outlined in the skills matrix. Priority areas include general practice, primary health care, and health service design and delivery. Regional representation is considered as part of the Board profile.

The Board welcome and encourage applications from people across our community, especially from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We recognise the richness that diversity brings to our organisation.

Commencing in November 2024 the elected terms are for 3 years to 2027.

Applicants must be based in Tasmania.

Important dates

  • Applications close Thursday 29 August 2024 COB.
  • Shortlisting will take place the week starting 9 September 2024.
  • Interviews are planned for the week starting 16 September 2024.
  • The Annual General Meeting is scheduled for 20 November 2024.

  • complete the application form (include a referee) and address the selection criteria (see position description)
